Consistent performance, great support

I've purchased from EKOSIA a few times now, and they've been consistently good. This last order was for another 'Pince ampèremétrique 5m' because I expanded my setup. Just like my previous orders, the item arrived quickly, and the quality was exactly what I expected. Their support team was also helpful when I had a quick question about compatibility a while back. It's why I keep coming back for my solar optimization needs. I know I'll get reliable products.

Got the wired SmartSun

So, I finally got around to grabbing the 'Routeur Solaire SmartSun Filaire'. Installation wasn't too bad, took me an afternoon to get it all hooked up. It seems to be doing its job, pushing power to my water heater, which is pretty cool. Shipping was alright, got here in about a week. Overall, it feels like a solid piece of kit and should help save a bit on my electric bill.

Are there any current discounts for buying a full kit, like the router and the current clamps together? Or just single item promos?

E Emily L. 2 weeks ago
Sometimes they have bundle deals, especially during stuff like Black Friday or French Days. I got a kit with a small discount last year. Keep an eye out.

P Patricia Robinson 2 weeks ago
They often have 'pack' offers, especially for kits. Check their site's 'Offers' section, or sometimes the referral codes give a small discount on bundles too.

Does anyone know if EKOSIA's stuff works with any water heater? I have an older one and don't want to buy this if it's not compatible.

B Brian T. 1 week ago
Yeah, it should. It basically just tells your water heater to turn on when there's excess solar, so it doesn't really care what brand or age your water heater is as long as it has an electric element.

I think it's pretty universal. The SmartSun just manages power to the immersion heater, so as long as your heater is electric, it should be good to go. Mine is like 8 years old and it's fine.

Is EKOSIA like a monthly subscription thing for the monitoring or anything? Or is it a one-time purchase?

A Alex D. 3 weeks ago
Nope, it's a one-time purchase. No subscription fees for the router itself or its basic functions. The app just works.

E Elizabeth 3 weeks ago
Definitely no subscription. You buy it, you own it. That's one of the reasons I went with them actually, no recurring costs.

Hey guys, thinking about getting the SmartSun router. Is the wired or wireless version better? My setup is kinda spread out.

M Megan Thomas 1 month ago
Wired is probably more reliable if you can run the cables. Wireless is good for convenience but you might run into signal issues depending on your house layout.

S Sean H. 1 month ago
I went with wireless because I didn't want to drill holes everywhere. Works fine for me, but my setup isn't super far apart. If your inverter and water heater are in different buildings or something, wired might be safer.

Anyone know how long shipping usually takes for the SmartSun router? I'm in NYC and trying to get this installed ASAP.

L Leah Wright 1 week ago
EKOSIA is a French company, so I'm not sure if they ship to NYC or how long that would take. Most of the delivery info I've seen is for France.

They're based in France, so shipping to the US might be a while or they might not even offer it directly. You might need a freight forwarder or something similar if they don't list US shipping options.

I have a referral code from a friend. Where do I actually type it in on their website when I'm buying?

P Patricia 1 week ago
It's usually at the very end, in the checkout process. There's a box for 'code promo' or 'code de parrainage' somewhere before you finalize payment.

M Melissa Jackson 1 week ago
Yeah, definitely in the cart or checkout page. Just look for a field that says 'coupon code' or something similar. Can't miss it usually.

Hey, what's the deal with EKOSIA vs. something like Solar-Log or Victron Energy? Is it worth it?

A Anthony A. 1 month ago
EKOSIA is pretty focused on just heating water with your solar surplus, so it's a bit simpler. Solar-Log and Victron are usually for more complex energy management systems, like batteries or whole-house automation. Depends what you need.

H Hannah J. 1 month ago
If you just want to optimize for hot water, EKOSIA is probably more straightforward and maybe cheaper than the full-blown systems like Victron. Victron is super powerful but also more involved to set up.

What's the warranty period on these SmartSun routers? Just wondering about long-term reliability.

A Anthony Scott 1 month ago
I think it's a standard two-year warranty for electronics, but you should probably double-check their official terms on the site to be sure.

C Carol Davis 1 month ago
Mine came with a 2-year warranty, which is pretty standard for these kinds of devices. Haven't had to use it yet, though!
